The Weakley County Fourth Grade Farm Day is an annual event made possible by Weakley County Young Farmers and Ranchers, Weakley County Farm Bureau and Weakley County Farm Bureau Women. FFA members from Greenfield, Dresden and Westview also assisted as students moved through 16 stops to discover more about cotton, insects and life cycles, grain, hogs, horses, equipment, growing your own food, dairy, forestry, beef cattle, poultry, soil conservation, energy, education options and ag careers. 

First Community Bank of the Heartland served as a sponsor. 

Weakley County Young Farmers and Ranchers secretary Jesi Valle expressed gratitude to presenters Greg Matheny, Bayer, Austin Scott, Shannon and Kelly Rea, Andy and Amy Rea, Bryan Hays, Lindsey Parham, H & R Agripower, Matt Carroll, Barb Darroch, Southeast United Dairy Industry, Laura Bell, Dennie Davidson, Melinda Perkins, Beverly Shelby, Tyson, Janie Peery, Natural Resources Conservation Service (Ronald Perkins, Josh Richardson and Pam Porter), and UTM Mobile Energy.

In a letter to speakers explaining logistics, Ben Moore, president of Weakley County Farm Bureau, wrote, “The majority of the students you will be speaking to will be many generations removed from the farm. As agriculturalists, we know how important it is to educate this generation about agriculture.”
