Charger Foundation Recognizes Westview with Cool Treats

Elizabeth Pritchett, the Foundation’s chairman, noted, “The Charger Foundation is very proud of Westview for being recognized as a Reward school and reaching this academic milestone. Great job to the students, faculty and administration. We look forward to continuing to watch our students grow!”

Shawn Gunter, owner of the local shaved ice establishment, brought the equipment and toppings to make made-to-order treats for the students throughout the day. Joining her were Conner Simpson and Westview seniors and Blue Swing employees Gracie Hamrick and Alexis Callins. School counselor Erica Myers also helped pack and pour.

“Westview High School would like to thank The Charger Foundation for the continued support of our schools,” Myers said. “The students were very appreciative and we feel this will help motivate them to continue to strive to do their very best. It was exciting and fun celebrating the Reward School status of WHS today!”

The Tennessee Department of Education uses the Reward School designation to recognize schools with outstanding success in achievement and growth.
