Principal Jon Gardner reported that students were relocated to the Teacher’s Workroom while the Martin Fire Department worked to determine the source and nature of the odor.

“I was told their equipment didn’t detect any measurable amounts of gas present, and that they considered the call cleared, but we decided to let the students remain in the temporary location until we could air the lab out a little longer,” explained Gardner. “We appreciate and thank the Martin Fire Department for the prompt and professional response made to our school.”

Weakley County Schools Maintenance staff are on site checking the building’s heating and cooling units. The gas lines to the lab tables have been closed off.
