We are continuing to practice safety precautions regarding COVID-19. Temperature checks, wearing masks, and stressing the need to be six feet apart whenever possible are priorities for us within the schools. By way of this letter, we are asking for your help.

Please note the information from the Tennessee Department of Health available here. You will find the latest information on timing related to isolations (for those who test positive) and quarantines (for those who were closer than six feet for more than 10 minutes of someone testing positive).

We must have an accurate count of the children who have been advised to isolate or quarantine.

We need families to notify our schools if one of our students has tested positive or has been told to quarantine due to direct contact. Documentation regarding a positive test of a student can be obtained from the Department of Health or your primary care provider.

Please follow the Department of Health recommendations given to you regarding timing of isolations and quarantines. The number of days can differ based on your circumstances. As a school system we cannot advise you as to when your child should return.

We are relying on you to follow the county mask mandate when you and your children are participating in non-school activities.

Working together, we can take necessary steps to help stop the spread.

Thank you,

Randy Frazier
Director, Weakley County Schools
