The Charger Foundation has awarded a second round of grants to Martin teachers ensuring almost $9,000 of resources will be coming to all four Martin schools.
Teachers were encouraged to apply for Charger Foundation funds for hands-on learning opportunities, field trips, and educational materials for their classrooms. A total of 25 grant requests were submitted to the Foundation and 16 grants were distributed for a total of $8,965.
The winners are: Kim Castleman, Rachel Fowler, Tiffany Frazier, Becky Jackson, and Lauren Campbell at Martin Primary; Beth Hatler, Tina Brown, April Fishel, Britton Knott, Carrie Stringer, and Rachel Worley at Martin Elementary; Kimberly Ware and Aaron Knott at Martin Middle School; and Wes Morgan, Martin Kane, and Laura Sterrett at Westview.
The awards included funding for a field trip, Robotics kits for STEM, French and chemistry materials, numerous classroom books to support curriculum, math and language manipulatives, various interactive recording devices to support classroom participation, and interactive podcast kits for use in an outdoor classroom.
“It is a privilege for the Charger Foundation to award these grants to our hard working teachers. The foundation is appreciative of the community support we are receiving. It is only through this generosity that these grants are made possible,” said Hollianne Carver, board member and chair the outgoing grants committee.
